The gate films has recently collaborated with Public Agency to produce a TV campaign for bed retailer Bensons for Beds.

The commercials were shot over five days on location in Manchester by director Simon Lewis.

Having only a few seconds of screen time to get to know each character before moving onto the product sections of the commercial was a challenge. Simon decided to use a 'moving still' approach to capture a moment where the characters are lost in emotion. Shooting the scenes in super slow motion on the Phantom camera meant that the viewers are presented with a snapshot of the characters life, before we see them taking up their sleeping positions in their Benson's Beds.

Darren Price, senior art director of Public, chose Ladysmith Black Mambazo's version of 'Mbube (Wimoweh) The Lion Sleeps Tonight' as the commercials soundtrack.
